It's Christmas! The most wonderful time of the year! Loads of cheer, lots of food, plenty of yummy candies and goody bags! Happy times calls for colorful shades. Pick a pastel palette of face colors or eyeshadows to brighten the look. Have your makeup done in hues of blue, purple, green, peach, yellow, orange or gold, and finish off with a dash of dazzling glitter. And if you know how, have all the colours on at the same time! Recently I picked up a bottle of Avene Soapless Cleanser and it works terrifically! My face is smoother and clearer due to its spring water content. The new blemishes are clearing up too. I was surprised and impressed by the quick results that I got the 20 SPF High Protection Emulsion for normal to combination sensitive skin to try. I should have gotten the 40 SPF for higher protection but I think it is fine for daily indoor usage. There's a bit of fragrance, goes on lightweight and non greasy. I may stock up the rest of their products eventually. Seems like I am a fan of Avene for now.

Photography Makeup - Additional Lighting picks up flaws and uneven skin tones. Cover up all imperfections with concealers and foundation, shading and contouring highlights and hides plump cheeks and alter face shapes. Blend the colours gradually and well. Use medium to big blusher/powder brushes. Stroke in circles instead of 'up and down' for a more blended effect.

Eyebrow Illusion - Use a lighter shade of brown such as a blonde colour on the eyebrows to soften the look. To create a higher nose, shade towards the inner side of the eyebrows. To widen the nose, shade further away from the start of the eyebrows. Also, stretching the ends will 'broaden' your face, and ending shorter will make your face look slimmer.

Foundation Test - Best to test on jaw area. If the foundation colour is right for you, it should blend with your skin in 3-4 strokes, not more. Do the test with your OWN fingers and not the sales person. Don't hurry into buying it just yet. Let the test 'patch' sit on your face for a few hours to see if it changes colour or texture. If it feels right, that's the one for you.

Oily Hair - Need to style your hair but your hair is oily? Add a little powder on your scalp to soak up the oil. Not too much powder though or it'll show through. Better to use translucent colorless powder than baby powder.

Eyebags and Dark Circles - Apply a dab of eye serum for eyebags and wrinkles before bed and a dab of eyecream for dark circles in the morning. Separate both product usage as too much product around the delicate eye area would have adverse effects and may result to heavier and larger eyebags.

MUST DOS BEFORE MAKEUP - Prepping the skin! Basic cleansing, toning, moisturizing and sunblock. Skipping any of these steps will eventually damage your skin. Add a couple of whitening items into the skincare regime for further prevention of freckles, age spots and pigmentation. e.g whitening serum and cream uv.

Wedding Day - Prevent makeup melt-down. A good base with mattifying properties before foundation or ampoule with collagen concentrate to prevent excessive excretion of sweat and oil build up. The outcome is fresh and clean throughout the day!

Sweet Valentine's Day Evening Hair - Section off left and right side of hair. Take the rest up into a very high ponytail, backcomb, smooth over top and pin base down. Take the sections, backcomb, smooth over and pin the sides to the back. Spray and brush down any unsightly hair. Finish the hairdo with a headband.

New Year Foundation - My current favourite - Clarins True Radiance Oil-Free Foundation. It's amazingly light-weight on the face and glides on smoothly. It's medium coverage is good enough for my combination skin and the scent is pleasant. So far this lovely product has passed the no clog pores and no zit test.
