Flawless Skin : Foundation Tips

Flawless Skin : Foundation Tips

Starting with a good makeup base will make your makeup look better and last longer. Makeup colours goes on better too when the skin looks clear, refined and poreless.

And the secret to flawlessness, is foundation.

And the tip, is to appear like you are not wearing any.

Identify your skin and age group first and you'd know which foundation suits you best.

Tinted Moisturizer - For normal skin types. All age group. Gives light coverage. Complements the already good skin.

Liquid Foundation - For all skin types. Gives light to medium coverage. Most commonly used. Best everyday usage. Apply with a brush, sponge or your fingers.

Luminuous Texture - It gives shine to very dry skin (and older skin), making it look radiant with natural sheen.

Matt Texture - For oily skin. It controls excessive sebum secretion. Makeup looks fresh all day.

Spray Foundation - Easy and quick. Still, some blending is needed for naturalism. Overspraying will give it a 'fake tan' look. A little goes a long way.

Cream Foundation - Preferably for dry skin types. Gives medium to heavy coverage. Provides a thick and richer coverage than liquid foundation. The application may be easier than liquid foundation - a few swipes of the cream stick does the trick, and it doubles up as a concealer. Though it can look a little heavy for everyday wear and if not applied correctly, your base may look 'masky'. So, keep a sponge handy to blend away any heaviness. Furthermore, a stronger makeup remover needs to be used to remove the waterproof makeup.

Mousse Foundation: Light and even coverage for matured skins as the texture of mousse hides the fines lines.

Cream to Powder: Preferaby for oily matured skin. This product has to be applied fast as it dries up quickly and if not blended properly, will look streaky and uneven.

Powder Foundation - Leave this for the newbie younger girls. It provides a smoother look but it will not hide marks and scars. Over-applying may look cakey.
