Eyes come in different shapes and sizes. Let's take a look on how to transform some basic eye shapes into better looking peepers.
Narrow eyes - Meaning: Eyes too close together. Tip: Shade away. Focus lighter colours on the inner sides and medium/dark colours on the outer edges of the eyes. The ligher colours give 'space' to the inner sides of the
eyes to increase the width of the eyes.
Bulging eyes - Meaning: Your cornea pops up more than usual. Also known as 'GoldFish' eyes. Tip: Focus the medium/dark colours where the buldge is to reduce or 'flatten' the bulge, and lighter colours go above the dark shades.
Wide set eyes - Meaning: Eyes too far apart from each other. Tip: Shade inwards. This is the opposite of narrow eyes. So focus your medium/dark colours on the inner sides of the eyes to bring them 'closer' together, and lighter
colours on the outer ends. Remember to blend or risk looking like a Kabuki performer.
Round eyes - The perfect eye shape is almond-shaped eyes. So stretch the eye makeup beyond the ends to liken the shape of an almond. Tip: Focus colours on both ends. Ending with an acute angle at the end of the eye socket
bone.
Slit eyes - Meaning: So small that when you smile, it appears as slits on skin. Tip: Use darker eyeliner to define the eyes. Put on natural-looking false eyelashes to create a bigger illusion of eye shape. Curl the lashes
and apply a few coats of mascara. Top it off with some mascara glitter too for added dimension of width.
Keep in mind that a combination of types may need to experiment with more than one technique to get the desired look. Your eyes have its own beauty so learn how to maximise them to their fullest potential!
