Contrary to what people say about clogged pores from foundation and loose powder. The fact is, your pores will be clogged at the end of the day even without makeup as long as the environment is filled with smog and smoke from vehicles, construction, from smoking cigarretes and other forms of pollution. It is the
cleansing part that needs to be addressed.
Here are some basic steps to cleansing and maintaining healthy and radiant skin.
Daily cleansing must be part of your daily routine even if you don't wear makeup. A facial wash should suffice. Those who do wear makeup should use a makeup-remover cleanser, followed by toner and a moisturiser. Add serum or essence for added benefits.
Exfoliate The Skin. Clear the daily debris of dead skin build up off your face with an exfoliant to have a clearer complexion. Men shave daily and that is why they tend to have much better skin than we do. If you do shave your legs, you'll know that the skin feels soft and smooth. So pick out a product that suits
your needs and lifestyle: a daily gentle exfoliator product or a scrub that you can use once or twice weekly depending on your skin condition.
Mask your Face. A must-do after exfoliating. This important step closes and tightens your pores, and adds nutrients to your skin from the mask ingredients.
Peel-off mask - For all skin types. It is refreshing and hydrating. And sometimes messy as the runny solution will drip off the mask. Still, a winner for an invigorating and soothing stress reliever.
Clay mask - Specially used for oily skin with acne and blemishes. The deep cleansing effect draws out toxins and soothes inflammations.
There are exfoliating masks in the market which combine the 2 steps together. This should not be used every day as the thorough cleansing action causes skin irritation and sensitivity due to the frequent scrubbing. Once or twice a week should do.
Sleeping Pack - Great for when you don't have time during the day to lie down for 20 mins. It detoxifies, repairs, heals and tones the skin tissues when you are asleep.
Incorporate a consistent facial routine to your lifestyle and be on your way to having healthy skin, at any age.
